ABC has declared on their television show Nightline that “Fireproof” the Christian movie, is 2008’s number one independent film, beating even “Slumdog Millionare”. Hollywood has been totally stunned by the success of the Christian independent market, but even more shocking is the report on ABC’s Nightline, that recognized this incredible victory in the box office and publicized it. Their comparisons are pretty amazing, the Christian movie, which was made by a Baptist church for 500,000 dollars, grossed in 2008 over 33,000,000 dollars in the box office. This is unheard of in the Hollywood industry. Not one Hollywood executive saw it coming.
ABC could not beleive that it bypassed it’s favorite independent films such as Sean Penn’s film, “Milk” and Woody Allen’s film, “Vicky Christina Barcelona,” they recognized that there is a change in the independent market.

There is also incredible films for potential Christian film makers. In the interview the president of Samuel Goldwyn Films, Meyer Gottlieb, commits to distributing at least two Christian Films this year. GNX News would like to compliment ABC News for their reporting.
