A federal appeals court ruled today that the words “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance are an appeal to patriotism, and not a statement of religion, and do not violate the separation of church and state. Although the very same court declared the pledge unconstitutional in 2002, today is a new era.

The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel, located in San Francisco, made a completely separate ruling to uphold placement of national motto of, “In God We Trust” on all U.S. coins and currency. The court said the language is patriotic and ceremonial, not religious. As a nation, the United States has always been blessed by the Lord, and we continue to use His name, and proclaim His divinity in a righteouss way. God is letting his presence be known throughout our nation. From “Laus Deo” (Praise be to God) on the Washington Monument to “In God We Trust” on the tiniest penny, our nation is clearly making itself be known historically as one nation, under God.  Click here to read the original broadcast news link.

Arizona Bus Crash

Ever wondered or thought to yourself, “What can I do?  I dont have what it takes to help anyone.” You are wrong–God can use all of us. Take Oscar Rodriguez, a fourth-grader from Arizona. When a tragic traffic accident involving a tour bus and a pick-up truck happened along the Arizona interstate,  Oscar, an eleven-year-old  passenger on the bus got out of the wreckage injured. Inspite of  his own injuries, he helped firefighters and paramedics throughout the whole ordeal. He translated from Spanish to English, telling rescue workers what injured victims needed them to know. He stayed calm and enabled  workers to do their jobs in the  chaotic injury scene.  Click this link and watch this video, courtesy of aolnews.com. Just by being who he was, Oscar became a hero. Kurt Warner

Many of you read our story “When I get to Heaven; NFL Edition”, where one of the featured players was Kurt Warner. Warner, a ‘born-again’ Christian, has not been shy on or off of the field about proclaiming his faith. He continues to enlarge his extremely impressive resume with such accomplishments as GFC Player of the Year (1993), five time Pro-bowl selection (1999, 2000, 2001, 2008, and 2009), Super Bowl champion and MVP (XXXIV), and Walter Payton Man Of The Year(2008).

In the 2010 playoffs, January 10, 2010, Warner threw 5 touchdowns and completed 29 of 33 passes for 379 yards in a 51-45 victory over the Green Bay Packers. The game had the highest combined total score in NFL playoff history. Warner became one of the very few quarterbacks in NFL history to throw more touchdowns (5) than incompletions (4) in a playoff game. Warner finished the game with the second highest quarterback rating in NFL playoff history with a rating of 154.1. He has also become the second quarterback to throw for 5 touchdown passes in a playoff game twice. He is also the oldest player to throw that many touchdown passes in a playoff game (38 years, 202 days). Warner now has the highest game winning percentage for home games in the playoffs: 1.000 (7-0) after Tom Brady lost his first home playoff game that same week (dropping his record to 8-1).

This Saturday, January 16th, 2010, at 4:30pm pst on Fox, Kurt Warner will lead the Arizona Cardinals against the New Orlean Saints. We pray for God’s favor on the game, against all injuries and unsportsman like conduct, and that God’s presence well be felt through out the game.

A newborn baby girl from Florida was only seconds away from death, but she’s still alive because a teenage next door neighbor knew exactly what to do. Leslie Lopez just shy of being one month old is still living today because of the actions of Jennifer Novelo a student with plans of medical career.  Watch video to get whole story.

Rita Van Loenen had no idea that riding in Thomas Chappell’s taxi cab could end up being the journey that saved her life. Thomas, a veteran cab driver who has been driving Rita Van Loenen to dialysis appointments, blessed the woman a month ago by offering to donate his kidney. When testing Chappell, doctors found the cab driver and his passenger had the same blood type, that their kidneys were compatible, and a perfect match! The selfless act of this cabbie is an extreme example of being a blessing to others. God used this man to go outside of his means and save Rita’s life.  God is so good.

King Peggielene Bartels

“Hello, Nana,” said the overseas caller — a relative, as it turned out — employing a title Ghanaian’s use to refer to people of stature, from royalty to grandparents.”What you mean, ‘Nana?’ ” answered Bartels, age 55,who had no grandchildren — or children, for that matter. Her husband lives overseas. She thought the call was phony. Come to find out she has become King over Otuan, Ghana!

Peggielene Bartels has gone from a honda-civic-driving-secretary in Washington D.C  to ruling over a 1000 acres of land and 7000 citizens! She now lives in a 8 bedroom palace in Ghana. It just goes to show you, God sets the authority he wants in power and controls it all; who knows? You could turn out to be a real prince or princess!

Staff Srgt. Jesse Jasper

On Sunday, September 13th, Raymond Jasper, the father of 26-year-old solider Jesse (deployed in Afghanistan on a one-year tour) received a call from a military liaison claiming that Jesse had been shot and killed in combat. A few hours later, Raymond and his wife Robin got another phone call they weren’t expecting. This time it was thier son’s girlfriend, who had just gotten off the phone with Jesse! He was alive! The mistake was made when his unit was attacked and another solider with similar features was fatally hit. The military pronounced both soliders dead when in actuality, Jesse survived and is now still serving his country. This is definitely a miracle for the Jasper family. As soliders continue to fight abroad please keep them in your prayers. God bless our troops!

seeing God's beauty... Again

Losing your eyesight maybe one of the most scary things that could happen to a person. That’s exactly what 90 year old Marty Alvey from Tualatin, Oregon experienced three years ago. Marty had no choice but to watch t.v. at a distance of six inches and he had altogether stopped reading because of the debilitating condition known as macular degeneration which causes a person to lose their central vision. Marty was then considered legally blind in 2006.

Saturday, August 8th,2009, Marty was rushed to the hospital due to feeling woozy that morning he then was stuck in the bathroom and had to crawl to the phone and call 911, in the ambulance he stated he was feeling better. In the hospital when the doctor walked he realized he could see,”He started talking to me, and I said, ‘You know, I can see you! I can see you!’” Alvey recalled. “I went crazy, completely crazy.”

two days ago Mart had his eyes checked by to different ophthalmologists, and discovered no explanation for his restored vision. “God never treated anybody as good as he’s treated me,”he stated after the miraculous event took place.”When I got out of bed this morning, I looked into the mirror, and I said, ‘Hello there, Marty, nice to see you.”told the Daily News, three days after his vision inexplicably returned. He went from being blind to being able to see five feet in front of perfectly clear without glasses or medical explanation. God can heal you when you least expect it, you don’t have to be in church to experience a miracle, its all in Gods timing.
